About this site…

This website is created to chronicle the exploits of the Twigg brothers - Art, Sam and Denny, as they ply their trade.

Born in Thailand, they hold dual citizenship, and have played Soccer for leading teams in Asia, USA and New Zealand.

Their love of the sport started at age 5-6 in Bangkok where they spent 2-3 days a week training and much of their school holidays in elite football camps for one of Bangkok’s most successful soccer academies – Bangkok Soccer Schools.

Although each of the three has outstanding independent credentials, it's worth noting that they have played alongside each other in many of their biggest victories. Here's a small tribute video to their joint success.

School Football

All three boys played for Auckland Grammar School 1st XI, which was consistently among the best in the country, despite a lack of support for the sport from the school. Art (2014 x 2) and Sam (2016) each won MVP awards, while Denny won Golden Boot in 2016 (also joint-top scorer in 2017), plus the John Wrathall Memorial Trophy for Sportsmanship and Outstanding Service to Football. Had the family stayed…

Sam is the only player in the club to have won both titles. In 2017 Art was a starter in the the Ellerslie AFC Mens 1st team, and Sam made a cameo towards the end of the…

Futsal

The boys had their introduction to small-sided soccer in Bangkok while still at primary school. And in two years in the US they played in 3v3 tournaments all across the South-East, medalling almost every time they played. Upon returning to NZ in 2011 they joined a recreational futsal league where as pre-teens they consistently won youth titles. And after their first game at Mens level they were invited to trial…
